GTA on Wii?

Not just another of those Internet rumours – this one comes straight from the horse’s mouth. In a Take 2’s latest financial briefing, the makers of Grand Theft Auto has hinted that, having taking the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC by storm, they are looking at what other formats can do for their business. They’ve already arranged the exclusive DS title, GTA: Chinatown Wars, but could a Wii version be on the cards? Nintendo’s motion sensitive console has, after all, got the biggest audience in the world, so surely Take 2 are missing out by not releasing a Wii version.

According to a story at Play.tm, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Feder, said: “We’ve spent an enormous amount of time and effort working with Nintendo. We’re very proud of the partnership. GTA: Chinatown Wars is an important step… and we intend to continue to grow that relationship.”

Perhaps not decisive evidence, but it certainly looks promising – and let’s not forget Reggie’s been trying to befriend with Rockstar since the Wii was created.
